Art at the Estuary Exhibition and Sale
Art and altruism come together once a year in this unique opportunity to purchase affordable art - and support a worthy cause.
The Hibiscus Hospice Women's Committee sixth annual art exhibition will be held over Queens Birthday weekend in June.
Organiser Vicki Lambert says "the 2011 event has even wider appeal than last year, with a total of 70 artists participating from all over the country, around 260 works of art for sale plus another 40 that have been donated for the opening night auction."
There’s something to suit every taste among a wonderful array of oil paintings, acrylics, watercolours, mixed media and prints – and our 3-dimensional works include ceramics, fabric, fibre, glassware, paper clay, terracotta, wood, copper, aluminium and steel.
A wide range of outdoor and garden art will be on display and there is also a good range of jewellery for those who are looking for something more personal.
Anyone interested in seeing how it's done can watch local artist Stu Duvall's creations come to life as he works on a piece every day.
The exhibition opens at the Estuary Art Centre 214B Main Highway Orewa on Thursday evening.
Opening hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday are 9.30am – 4pm and on Monday, 9.30am – 2pm. Entry on these days will be by gold coin donation.
